Lafferty Motorsports Development Driver Russ Dugger to Make NASCAR Craftsman Truck Debut at Martinsville

October 9, 2008

Owasso, OK - Russ Dugger will be making his NASCAR Craftsman Truck debut behind the wheel of the #89 Lafferty Motorsports Duct Seal Technologies / "Damn Good Jerky" Chevrolet Silverado at Martinsville Speedway for the Kroger 200 on October 18th.

Lafferty Motorsports owner Chris Lafferty said, "We are happy to be helping Russ to make his Truck series (NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series) debut, Russ has been the poster child for our driver development program putting forth the drive, determination and discipline that it takes to run at this level."

Dugger, who has tested for Lafferty in both Craftsman Trucks and ARCA Re/Max cars, is eager to demonstrate his short track skills and earn the respect of his fellow competitors.

When asked about his feelings regarding the debut at a demanding Martinsville track, Dugger said "I know it's a drivers race track, it requires a lot of discipline behind the wheel - especially the throttle.  It's not a high grip racetrack, so even though that's a tough characteristic, I'm looking forward to it because that puts it back in my hands," Dugger said.

Much of Dugger's short track experience comes by way of the United States Super Truck South racing series.  Dugger and Lafferty hope that experience transfers well to the NASCAR stage.
